The Amityville Horror

At 3:15am on November 13, 1974 at the house on 112 Ocean Avenue, Ronald DeFeo Jr. took one of his father's guns and murdered his parents and four siblings. Not a sound was heard anywhere nearby.

In December of 1975, George and Kathy Lutz purchased the property. Upon moving in , a number of strange things began to happen. Cold spots, manifestation of flies in a 3rd floor bedroom in wintertime, footprints in the snow that did not appear human in nature, etc.

As time passed, things became weirder and more frightening. Kathy was levitated, George would wake up at 3:15am every morning, Kathy was levitated and one time while looking in the mirror she had the appearance of an old hag! Missy, the young daughter, had an imaginary friend she called "Jodie". "Jodie" reportedly was a pig whose eyes could be seen outside the 2nd floor window of Missy's room. Late in their stay, blood allegedly oozed from the walls, the red room in the basement was alleged to be "the gateway to hell.",

After 28 days, the Lutzes fled the house leaving most of their belongings behind. They never returned for any of it.

This is the house as seen today. No paranormal activity has been reported since the Lutzes moved out, and many people have suggested the entire incident was a hoax concocted by the Lutzes in an attempt to profit off the murders of the De Feo family.
