With all the negative comments about the Internet, it would be nice to
look at the top ten ways the Internet has actually *improved* over the
last few years...
10) After trying to use the Green Card lawyers, Serdar Argic
was deported to somewhere without Internet access.
9) Kibo grew up, became a businessman, and transformed
Kiboism into DejaNews.
8) News anchors have finally discovered that Internet is not
the same thing as the one in the cartoon, Speed Racer.
7.5) Now that congestion is getting so bad, it might keep
us from gettting any junk-email.
7) alt.adjective.noun.verb.verb.verb has *finally* gone out of
fashion.
6) Spam has been removed from Usenet and confined to little
rectangles on web pages.
5) The average Usenetter IQ has finally dropped low enough
so that we can feel superior to someone.
4) Dilbert.
3) Congress is finally going to clean up all that smut that I
haven't been able to find, which should be easy now that
they have net access.
2) No longer do college freshmen ask us to do their homework:
now it's grade school kids, so we finally know the answers.
1) We don't have to worry about AOL trashing the net anymore,
they've already done it.
